5 years after graduation I hope to be either editing or directing my first film, or be working in soho as an editor for television.
Directing has always been a dream of mine, it is the person who controls all of the artistic elements and dramatic aspects of the film, creating art within pictures, they have to make critical decisions on the film during all stages of production, though this job is mostly freelance.
Editing is a job that has always intrigued me, I honestly believe the film is brought to life through the editing suite. It is the person or people that cut the film together, there is two different main editing jobs, offline and online editing.
Offline being the job where the raw footage is copied across to a computer and cutting it together within a lower quality.
Online being that job where you do all of the added extras such as colour correcting and reinstating the quality.
I wish to be an offline editor, being able to cut the footage together and experiment with different cuts, most companies that participate in editing are based in SOHO in London.

As a freelance film maker, i would have a company that made british art house films that we would feature at the cannes film festival and other festivals around the world, my job would be a director editor, a man in charge of the creation and editing of art, I will have a group of people that are dedicated to the production and distribution of the film also, and eventually we will get somewhere.
I may have to fund the projects by doing corporate and wedding videos but this would be part time.
